So, whodayathinkyourlookinat buddy? Yeah, I live in New York City?
Yeah, we do whatever the heck we want? when we want? how we want? where we want? You got it, we take no prisoners and don't let anybody push us around. so ...ummm.....
Yeah, that's right, I'll admit it, why not? Here goes: We just permitted the New York City Council to extend term limits for its public officials, thereby indirectly permitting our Mayor Bloomberg to run again. For a third term. Without a referendum that asks the people of the city he serves what they think?
But who cares about us anyway? right? We are only the tough 'ol taxpayers... and everyone knows that taxes in New York are completely reasonable. Right? Yeah, I am sure we did the right thing... I think so anyway.
And sure, Bloomberg is one of the country's richest men. And, yes, right again, he did once vote to create these term limits. And yes, we are all Democrats and he is a Republican. And, sure, nearly every City Council member who voted for him was seeking to extend their own term limits. And, yeah, he might have placed a touch of pressure on a few folks to go along with him. And, he may have even promised a few people some of his billions of dollars if they supported his request.
But, c'mon, he said that he is the only man who can handle New York's economic downturn. Why? 'cause everyone knows that the richer you are, the smarter you are... or at least the more deserving of the opportunity to show it.
