Joe Biden: Freshly Vetted and Ready Rumble!!
There is nothing more anticipated than when a Presidential nominee selects a Vice Presidential running mate. I am going to have to admit that Obama's choice here is so completely and thoroughly and absolutely well thought out and strategic, it is going to be difficult for the Republicans to stand up against this dynamic duo.
Senator Biden's story is a well-known one in political circles. A man who lost his first wife and baby daughter in a car accident shortly before being sworn into the Delaware Senate. He was sworn in under the shroud of extraordinary injury and mind numbing grief. His story is at once heartbreaking and inspiring about second chances and what we do with the rest of the life with which we are blessed. His background just deepens Senator Obama's own textured ascendancy to political office, their stories intertwine.
And, in light of "vetting," well, I heard the FBI helped with this process, so if Biden passed, well, what can we say. No skeletons, or baby's mamas (poor John Edwards). Well, thank goodness.
As Obama has been cast as an elitist by the Republicans, one cannot say the same of Biden. He is an insider and equally a man of the people, who is as capable of pressing the flesh and looking into the eyes of every American as is Senator Obama.
So, let's go team. Ready to roll.
